Start from the beginning..... ↓
Vincent McCarter Eastwood was born January 4, 1897 to Vincent and Isabelle Eastwood in Peterborough Ontario. He served in WWI for the Canadian army in the 93rd and 18th Battalions. He won a Military Cross for his 'gallantry and devotion' in combat while storming the trenches.
These are his letters home to his parents and his sister Margaret. I hope they help to bring you insight on the everyday life of a Canadian soldier in the first World War and I hope you appreciate the writings of a man over a hundred years in the past.
I, the transcriber, am his Great-Grandson Michael Ritchie and I hope you enjoy reading these letters as much as I have enjoyed transcribing them. If you ever have any questions, concerns, or something to add to one of my posts, feel free to contact me through email on the Contact page!
